Bio

I am an emerging artist from central Ohio. I loved to draw as a child but put away my sketchbook after college for a career as an accountant and to raise a family. After a complete hiatus from art of over thirty years, I began taking art classes online and at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center in 2019. The old passion returned.

In 2022 I entered my first exhibition (the Ohio State Fair Amateur Fine Art Exhibition) and had two paintings accepted, one winning an Ohio Arts Council Award. Since then, I have exhibited frequently in central Ohio. I am currently represented by Hayley Gallery in New Albany.

I paint primarily human faces and figures using acrylic paint. My paintings often incorporate bold, unrealistic colors, texture, and gestural brushstrokes. Feeling, movement, and the love of color trump reality in my work.
As a relatively new artist, I don't want to limit myself to one medium, subject or style but continues to experiment and evolve, experimenting with new mediums such as oil, pastel, collage, and encaustic.
